Alumnus of the Year, Alan Hotchkiss

Multnomah University is delighted to announce that Alan Hotchkiss has been awarded the 2019 Alumnus of the Year award. This prestigious award is the highest honor that Multnomah bestows upon its alumni. Last week in chapel, the MU student body, faculty, and staff gathered to honor Alan for his exemplary life and service to the Lord and his consistent support of Multnomah.

Alan graduated from Multnomah with his Bachelor of Science in Biblical Education in 1994, and he went on to graduate with his Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies in 1998. Alan also served as an Admissions Counselor at Multnomah while earning his Master’s from 1994-1998. From 1999-2008 Alan led church and community mobilization for the Luis Palau ’61 Association in 12 major US cities, culminating in his initial vision for, and early co-development of, the Palau Association’s current Cityserve/Cityfest outreach model.

Since late 2008, Alan has served as the United States Executive Director for Africa New Life Ministries International, a nonprofit organization founded in 2001 by Dr. Charles Mugisha (also an MU Alumnus). Africa New Life currently sponsors the education of over 10,000 K-12, university, and vocational scholars. In support of these students and their families, Africa New Life has established several high performing elementary and secondary schools, a number of new churches, the second largest private hospital, and the largest theological college/seminary in Rwanda.

Alan is a shining example of a man who lives for the Lord. It is our privilege to honor Alan and the work that he has accomplished for the Kingdom of God by naming him Multnomah University’s 2019 Alumnus of the Year. Congratulations, Alan. May the Lord continue to bless you.
