Coach Corey Mehl, an Ohio native, was an all-conference runner in cross country/track & field at the University of Charleston (WV) from 2005-2009. At UC, he was the 2007-08 Male Sportsperson of the Year and graduated with a B.S. in Business/Athletic Administration in 2009. In 2011, Corey earned his M.S. in Sports Administration from the University of Louisville. Coach Mehl began his coaching career at Multnomah as a volunteer assistant in the fall of 2015 before taking the reins in the summer of 2017. During his time here, the program has achieved great success including two national qualifiers in track & field and one in cross country.

Corey and his fiancé, Brittany, are exchanging vows in August 2020.  They both enjoy taking walks in Northeast Portland, reading, cooking, and spending time with their church community, Imago Dei Central City.
